SOME SONGS TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS When Christmas is getting nearer, we always think about some songs to be played in the classroom to celebrate this time of the year.
The students can be given the lyrics of the songs with some gaps to be filled in, and do practice of Listening
students will listen to the song twice to try to complete it
Then, they´ll listen to the song again with the lyrics to check
-Why is 11th November a date to remember?
-Why is the poppy a symbol on this date?
-Which countries conmemorate this date? - Why?
-What do people do to conmemorate this day?
Reach the top of the world and Dreams will come true Watch the film "James and the Giant Peach", and then answer the following questions:
(The film is based on a tale by the famous writer Roald Dahl)
- What´s the name of the boy?
- Where does he live?
- Who does he live with?
- What are James´s troubles?
- Where are the answers to all James´s problems?
- What marvellous things will happen?
- What´s hanging on a tree?- What happens next?
- How many animals appear in the film?
(look for their names up in a dictionary)
- What are they attacked by?
- Why is New York important in the film?
Write or tell the end of the film and the moral in it
Watch the following video and then, answer the following questions:
The story takes place in a viking little village
- What´s the relationship between the boy and his black dragon?
- What does the boy lose?
- What does the boy´s father want him to do?
- What does the boy´s invention consist of?
- What´s the girl´s great idea?
- Different ways to say "¿Que pasa?"
- Write a summary of the story / Tell the story: summarize it

Not long ago, we thought that ROBOTS were only science-fiction.
Along these days, there has been a robot exhibition at the IFEMA in Madrid.
A new robot has been introduced. His/Her name is QBO
You can look for further information about QBO in the following web:
What´s new about Qbo? Qbo has been made in Spain. It´s been created by Francisco Paz.
It´s a little robot, kind of pet, made from a kit. Qbo is 45 cm tall and 10 kg fat. He/She can connect to the world via wireless Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
WILL QBO ENTER CLASSROOMS AND HELP US?
Set of questions to be made to students introducing the session:
-Would you like to have a robot in your classroom?
- What can a robot do in a classroom?
- What would you like a robot for in the classroom?
- Could a robot take the place of a teacher?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a robot in the classroom?

- Can robots make friends?
- Can robots have feelings?
Would you like to get a QBO? You´ll be able to buy one along the last term of the year!!!.....and it´s not so expensive as you may think!!!
Recommendation: Watch the animation film: "Wall-E" or the film: "I Robot"
Languages have sometimes created "special" situations, misunderstandings... This also happens with English.

Visita organizada por los profes de Francés e Inglés del cole, programada y concertada con el Museo del Prado para los grupos de 4º de ESO
Los alumnos llevaban un cuestionario(en Inglés y Francés) y un itinerario con los cuadros que tenían que ver y comentar.
No solo tenían que buscar, identificar el cuadro y el pintor sino fijarse tambien en algunos detalles curiosos
La actividad les encantó por varios motivos: salir del cole y la rutina ya es positivo(por cierto nos fuimos en Metro), y además el hecho de ir buscando el cuadro y fijarse en los detalles les entretuvo mucho.
Os recomiendo esta actividad. Es positiva para todos. Una incursión en el Arte hablando en Francés e Inglés(los alumnos tenían que dirigirse a nosotros en el idioma correspondiente y contestar al cuestionario en ese idioma claro)Clase en el Museo del Prado
